Hot flush, night sweats, power surges. Call them what you will, they can be extremely uncomfortable and disconcerting when they hit.

Here’s a couple of hot flush remedies you may find helpful.

The Flushie

A cooling slushy drink for hot flushes –

Blend

  • Lemon juice (1-2 lemons),
  • Fresh mint,
  • Sage – you can make a sage tea and cool it down
  • Ice,
  • Chilled cucumber to serve
  • A little water
  • Stevia (or other sweetener)
To consume before bedtime or any time you need cooling down.

Sage and Raspberry Leaf tea

  • ½ tbsp fresh sage leaves (if dried use half the amount)
  • ½ tbsp fresh raspberry leaves (if dried use half the amount)
  • 200mL freshly boiled water

Pour the water over the washed sage and raspberry leaves and leave to infuse for 8-10 minutes.

Sip a small wine glassful every 3 hours. Chin-chin.

Maca***

Maca is known as Peruvian Ginseng and is grown in the high Andes in Peru.

It was traditionally used as an aphrodisiac and to improve stamina.

These days it appears to benefit Dames going through menopause.

One of my client’s swears by Maca Gold for her power surges. She takes the capsules. You may like to buy the powdered form and add a desert-spoon full to your smoothies.

***Warning: may also enhance libido. Woot!

And remember, this is your time to feel fresh and be great.
